FAQ – Cadence Trainer Pro
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
▶️ General
What is Cadence Trainer Pro?
Cadence Trainer Pro is the premium, ad-free version of Cadence Trainer.
It helps runners improve their cadence (steps per minute) using simple audio beat cues that keep you in rhythm and reduce injury risk.
The Pro version works completely offline, with no ads, no subscriptions, and no data collection — just pure, focused training.
How is Cadence Trainer Pro different from the free version?
The Pro version offers the same trusted cadence training features as the free app, but with:
- 🚫 No ads or Run Tokens
- 🚫 No subscriptions or in-app purchases
- 🔒 No data collection or analytics
- 💰 A simple one-time purchase on the App Store
It’s built for runners who prefer a distraction-free, privacy-first experience.
Does Cadence Trainer Pro work on all iPhones?
It uses your phone’s built-in motion and fitness sensors to measure step cadence.
If your device doesn’t include a step counter or motion chip, cadence data won’t be recorded, but audio cues still work normally.
▶️ Features & Usage
Can I use Cadence Trainer Pro offline?
You don’t need an internet connection for cadence tracking, audio cues, or history.
All data stays on your device and never leaves it.
How do I change my target cadence?
You can set any value between 100 and 200 SPM, depending on your training goals using the Target SPM slider.
Can I run with my phone locked?
Audio cues will continue to play in the background while the app tracks cadence.
How do I stop a run?
Simply slide the power icon on the left all the way to the stop icon on the right.
After stopping, you’ll see your average cadence and target cadence for that session.
▶️ Privacy & Permissions
Why does Cadence Trainer Pro ask for motion or fitness access?
This permission allows the app to read your step count and motion data from your device sensors.
It’s used only to calculate your running cadence.
All data is processed locally on your phone — nothing is collected, stored, or shared externally.
Does Cadence Trainer Pro track or share any data?
No.
Cadence Trainer Pro does not use analytics, ads, or third-party tracking tools.
The app functions entirely offline, and all motion data remains stored on your device only.
🔗 See our Pro Privacy Policy for full details.
Why does the app need access to background activity?
This helps you train without interruptions or needing to keep the app visible on-screen and reduces battery usage.
▶️ Troubleshooting
My cadence isn’t being recorded. Why?
If cadence data isn’t showing:
- Check that Motion & Fitness permissions are enabled in your iPhone settings.
- Open the app and verify the Step Counter Status indicator:
- 🟢 Green — step counter active
- 🟡 Yellow — permission denied (tap to enable)
- 🔴 Red — no motion sensor available on this device
Some older or budget iPhones may not include hardware step counting support.
The audio cues aren’t playing. What can I do?
Make sure the volume in Cadence Trainer Pro is turned up as well. If using Bluetooth headphones, confirm the connection before starting a run.
Does Cadence Trainer Pro work with other running apps?
It runs in the background while you record your run with another app.
Does Cadence Trainer Pro work with music apps?
The feasibility of this feature is still being explored as it may be useful for some audio streams such as comedy shows and podcasts.
